The fresh food and produce you help provide helps jean's Grankids thrive. Jean worked the night shift at a nursing home in Mitchell for 31 years before retiring to take in three young grandchildren. Now, at 71, she is struggling to raise them on her own, and has learned first-hand how hard it is to make ends meet on a limited fixed income. Learn more about Jean's Story in our Spring Newsletter.

Juanita’s fibromyalgia causes chronic pain, but with two kids at home to feed, she can’t afford to stop working. She works nights at the famous Corn Palace in Mitchell while relying on her mom Sofia to care for her two children. Read More

 

Mitchell Food Pantry - putting an emphasis on nutrition

The Mitchell Food Pantry has worked to improve the lives of neighbors in need for 25 years - starting as food pantry in the local Salvation Army before branching out into their own location in town. Today, the food pantry partners with Feeding South Dakota to distribute food to people throughout the community, putting a special emphasis on healthier options. Read More
