Sioux Falls, South Dakota (July 21, 2021) – Feeding South Dakota announces that Lori Dykstra of Sioux Falls, South Dakota will be the new CEO of the largest hunger-relief organization in South Dakota. An experienced executive leader, Dykstra will join the Feeding South Dakota team on August 9, 2021, to work alongside CEO Matt Gassen until his retirement date set for August 31, 2021.
“It’s an honor to follow in Matt’s footsteps in this role,” Dykstra shared. “I’m excited to lead the Feeding South Dakota team to optimize service delivery to meet the needs of those who face hunger in South Dakota and grateful for the opportunity to share my passion for community service.”
Dykstra joins Feeding South Dakota with over 20 years of executive leadership experience in both non-profit and for-profit organizations, leading functional areas including information technology, marketing, operations, and fundraising. Most recently Dykstra served as Chief Operations Officer for Girl Scouts Dakota Horizons where she implemented new technologies, increased program and fundraising revenue, and improved operational efficiencies to better meet evolving demands.

Dykstra earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Dakota, and is certified in Leading Operational Changes, Project Management, and Six Sigma Methodology.
