RAPID CITY, SD – 6/16/17 – With one in every six kids at-risk of going hungry in the Black Hills area, one area business has stepped up to help make a difference. UBS Financial Services, Inc. is not only presenting Feeding South Dakota with a $3,500 donation but will also pack 700 weekend food packages for the Summer BackPack Program.

Please join us Monday, June 19 at noon at 1111 N. Creek Drive, for a check presentation. There will also be an opportunity to video tape the group packing.

We are pleased to be able to support this important Feeding South Dakota program which helps to feed many children in our community, said Allen Canete, Vice President-Investments/Portfolio Manager.

In Rapid City and the surrounding Black Hills communities, over 1,800 food insecure children receive a weekend food packages for the entire school year. During the Summer 700 children receive the package over a ten week period. The BackPack Program fills a critical need for many children who without this program would go hungry on weekends and summer vacation when they do not have access to school feeding programs.

“UBS Financials' gift will make a significant difference for our Summer Program. It will purchase 69 BackPacks for the entire ten week Summer Program,” said Debbie Renner, Feeding South Dakota Fund Development Associate.
