Rapid City Rush Players Trade Hockey Sticks  for Paint Brushes to Support Empty Bowls Project

Rapid City (March 3, 2017) — Rapid City Rush Players are rolling up their sleeves Wednesday, March 8 at Pottery 2 Paint from 2:00 to 3:00 PM to help Feeding South Dakota raise money for the BackPack Program through the annual Empty Bowls Event.  The public is invited to join the fun and paint with the Rush. There will Door prizes provided by the Rush and Pottery 2 Paint, as well as opportunities, for autographs and pictures.

The event sponsored by Leadership Rapid City and Feeding South Dakota’s encourages you to paint a bowl and buy a ticket to join us for a simple meal of soup, bread, and dessert at for the 5th Annual Empty Bowls Event coming up at SDSM&T Surbeck Ballroom on April 11, 2017.  Choose from three sessions, 11 AM, 12:30 PM, or 5:30 PM.

The BackPack Program provides over 1,800 weekly food packages to children throughout the Black Hills Region, in 35 elementary, middle, and high schools, during the school year and another 700 in the summer. The program was designed to fill the hunger gap that exists from Friday to Monday when school is not in session.


On the day of the event, attendees choose a beautiful hand-painted ceramic bowl as a reminder of the many bowls left to fill to provide food for the hungry. Plan to paint your bowl and buy your ticket by March 30th.
