Quadruple Your Donation to Feeding South Dakota through the end of March 2017

SOUTH DAKOTA [March 6, 2017] – Feeding South Dakota is excited to announce a matching gift opportunity through a continuing partnership with the Professional Bull Riders (PBR). PBR is teaming up with Feeding South Dakota to “Buck Hunger” this March. The Professional Bull Riders will quadruple the first month's gift of all new monthly donors. This means each dollar donated will provide 16 meals through this matching opportunity.

The goal for this matching challenge is an increase of $25,000 in sustained, annual funds to run the hunger relief programs at Feeding South Dakota. That means 100,000 more meals for hungry children, families, and seniors here in South Dakota every year.

“The reality of hunger in South Dakota is that one in every eight individuals in our state is at risk of going hungry,” says Matt Gassen, CEO of Feeding South Dakota.  Gassen adds, “Even more daunting is that one in every six children struggle with getting regular meals on a daily basis.” The struggle to provide basic necessities like food goes much farther than an empty plate. Speaking about receiving food from Feeding South Dakota’s Food Pantry Program, one recipient said, “Food is such an integral part of feeling loved. So it’s amazing to discover this large community of people willing to provide this one essential thing, which is food, and in essence, love.”

Feeding South Dakota urges community members to consider becoming sustaining, monthly donors to help provide meals to the more than 191,000 individuals across who are helped by Feeding South Dakota each year.
