1 in 8 individuals in South Dakota face hunger. This September, join Feeding South Dakota to help raise awareness of this issue in our state.

It all starts with a day and a color.  This year, Hunger Action Day is Thursday, September 14th! Take one simple step on September 14th: WEAR ORANGE.  A shirt, a tie, a scarf, or even orange jewelry can make a huge difference.  Help us turn the state ORANGE!

Join us at Hunger Action Month events across the state:

What can't you do on an empty stomach?

Everyone knows the feeling of an empty stomach. This feeling of running on empty is a daily reality for more than 100,000 people in South Dakota. Without proper nutrition and enough food, people – kids especially – do not have the energy to focus, learn, and succeed. Tell your friends and family what you cannot do on an empty stomach.

Write it on a plate, take a selfie, and post to your social media with #HungerActionMonth. Tag @FeedingSD for a chance to be featured on our website and social media!
